andysgrandparentsprite.jpg (36139 bytes) Wow!

My grandparents Sprite Musketeer bought new in around 1962.

They sited it just outside Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria on Wood Close Caravan Park. The picture shows my brother proudly showing off his new Honda next to the Sprite.

A Elddis Tornado bought new in 1969 pictured here on site on the edge of the Welsh Herefordshire border in May 1970.

I loved that holiday, it just seemed perfect the site was only small and I made a great friends with another boy called Robert, who was in a tent with his parents and sister.

My parents elddis in yorkshire.jpg (57426 bytes) Another shot of the Elddis, taken at Pinfold caravan park in the Yorkshire dales.

My brother and his then new wife honeymooned in it. That’s how I know this picture was taken in October 1969!

Andrewsparents1971weltonroselida.jpg (47507 bytes) My parents 1971 Welton Rosaleda with Ford Cortina 1.6 L towcar in the Yorkshire Dales on a CL site at Clapham. Dad was so proud of the Welton buying it as an end of season deal in September 1971at £645, getting a saving of around £50!

I remember the Welton with its well-finished oak veneer furniture. This 13ft 6in-end kitchen van housed four of us, and then my brother and his wife loaned it on several occasions.

Dad had bought a new Elddis Cyclone at the beginning of 71, but fell in love with the Weltons classic profile and clubman image. So after only 9 months the Elddis moved over for the Welton. When hitching the Welton up for the first time dad comments were “ I feel like king of the road” such was the Weltons effect! It finally traded in 5 years later for a new 1977 Elddis Tornado!
